LAKE COUNTY, Ill. – Authorities have arrested a 19-year-old man, Shawon Shamarion Williams, in connection with a shooting that occurred on a charter boat in South Carolina, leaving 11 people injured during a Memorial Day weekend gathering. The incident unfolded on May 25 aboard a charter boat in Little River, South Carolina, which was hosting a private event with 124 individuals on board—120 passengers and four crew members. Initially responding to reports of an injury, officers discovered that a shooting had taken place, resulting in 11 injuries. While three victims were hospitalized, they have since been released.
Williams faces charges for being a fugitive from justice and is expected to be charged with multiple counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
