Fire Destroys Garage and Damages Home in Dixon, Illinois
DIXON, Ill. — A significant fire on Friday evening led to the destruction of a detached garage and damage to a nearby home on West 9th Street in Dixon, Illinois. The incident was reported around 6:15 p.m. when local fire crews arrived to find the garage fully engulfed in flames, with the fire threatening the adjacent residence.
Emergency responders from the Dixon City Fire Department, Dixon Rural Fire Protection District, and Advance EMS quickly mobilized to combat the blaze. They effectively extinguished the fire without any injuries reported, as the homeowner was not present at the time. Fire crews concluded their operations and cleared the scene by 9 p.m.
An investigator from the Office of the State Fire Marshal is currently probing the cause, which remains undetermined. Assistance was provided by several neighboring departments, including the Dixon Police Department, Rock Falls, Oregon, Polo, and Sterling Fire Departments, along with CGH EMS.
