Severe storms hit Fulton County in Central Illinois on Sunday evening, causing widespread power outages. Hundreds of customers were left without electricity in the area, with scattered outages reported in Peoria and Knox counties as well. The Fulton County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency advised residents to stay indoors and avoid traveling, as power lines were down throughout the county. They also warned residents to treat all power lines as live and not attempt to approach or move them. A tree down on County Road 2 in Fulton County forced the road’s closure. In total, nearly 2,000 customers in Knox County were affected by the power outages. 25News Now provided live coverage of the storm and its aftermath.
