Trustee Jason House defeats Dolton ‘Dictator’ Tiffany Henyard in Democratic primary

The self-proclaimed “super mayor” of Dolton, Illinois, Tiffany Henyard, suffered a significant defeat in Tuesday’s Democratic primary election, losing to village Trustee Jason House by a large margin. Henyard, who had been facing scandals and controversies for over a year, received only 12% of the vote compared to House’s nearly 88%.

Throughout her campaign, Henyard faced accusations of overspending, involvement in an FBI probe, and engaging in heated altercations at public meetings. Despite her claims of victory before the election, the voters clearly showed their preference for a change in leadership by overwhelmingly choosing House.

In response to her loss, Henyard accepted defeat, acknowledging that “the people have spoken.” Her term as mayor will end in May, with House expected to face an independent candidate in the general election. Supporters of House, as well as former critics of Henyard, expressed relief and excitement over the election results, declaring that the “Wicked Witch of the West is dead” and celebrating her defeat as a positive change for the community.

With Henyard’s slate of candidates also losing in the election, it appears that the voters in Dolton have signaled a desire for a new direction in leadership. The upcoming general election in April will further determine the future of the village, as residents eagerly anticipate a fresh start under new leadership.
