IMRF invests $100 million in new real estate managers

Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) has recently announced the addition of Pretium Partners, S2 Capital, and Mesirow Financial to its real estate manager roster, committing a total of $100 million. This decision followed a request for proposal issued in October last year, resulting in investments including a $50 million commitment to the Pretium Affordable Single-Family Rental Fund, and $25 million each to the S2 Real Estate Fund II and Mesirow Financial Real Estate Value Fund V funds.

Pretium Partners focuses on suburban areas in over 30 US markets, investing in communities with 50 to 150 homes. S2 Capital is seeking to raise $600 million for Fund II, a US multi-family property fund. Mesirow Financial’s Fund V aims to raise $1.2 billion to acquire Class A and B multifamily properties across the US.

Both Pretium Partners and S2 Capital declined to comment on the news. For further details, the latest issue of IPE Real Assets magazine is available for reference.
