Nora Lewis, a former All-American basketball player for Louisiana Tech, is set to be inducted into the inaugural class of the Illinois Sports Hall of Fame on June 13th, 2025. Lewis, a standout player since high school, had an impressive career at Louisiana Tech, leading the Lady Techsters to multiple Final Four appearances and a national championship during her time with the team.
After a successful high school career, Lewis joined Louisiana Tech and made an immediate impact, becoming the second-leading scorer as a freshman. Despite an injury-shortened first season, Lewis bounced back in her sophomore year, helping the Lady Techsters reach the national championship game.
In her junior season, Lewis played a crucial role in Tech’s national title win, and in her senior year, she averaged a double-double, leading the team to another Final Four appearance. Throughout her career, Lewis amassed over 1,700 points and 1,000 rebounds, solidifying her place in Louisiana Tech basketball history.
Lewis’s jersey hangs in the rafters of the Thomas Assembly Center, and she was previously inducted into the Louisiana Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 2015. Her upcoming induction into the Illinois Sports Hall of Fame recognizes her outstanding contributions to the sport and her achievements as a basketball player.
