The Odin School Board met on Thursday night to discuss several important topics. One of the key decisions made was to table any action on renewing sports cooperatives with other schools. Further discussion will take place at the March meeting before determining which cooperatives to keep and which to end.
Other decisions made by the board included setting the high school graduation for May 16th at 6:30 pm, with baccalaureate scheduled for 6 pm. The Odin Junior High Graduation will take place on May 19th at 6:30 pm. The first day of school for the upcoming year was also set for August 13th.
In terms of staffing, the board hired Tiffany Neu as a CNA Teacher and Nurse for the next school year. The resignation of Ian Barbee as the Senior Class Trip Sponsor was accepted, with Sean Cochran taking his place.
Additionally, the board approved a Booster Club Fundraiser for June 14th, which will include a softball tournament and bounce houses. The board also made the decision to withdraw from the Prairie State Insurance Cooperative and will be going out for bids on health insurance for the coming year.
The Odin community can expect further updates and decisions at the next board meeting in March, where the topic of sports cooperatives will be further discussed and decided upon.
