South Elgin man arrested after breaking into home, harming animal, and barricading himself in basement. Daniel J. Jenkinson, 28, forced entry into a home in the 600 block of Juli Drive, injuring an animal. Residents took the injured animal to a vet. South Elgin police requested backup from Kane County authorities. Jenkinson, on parole for aggravated battery, faces multiple charges including violating an order of protection and aggravated cruelty to an animal.
