Texas A&M and Illinois Top the Initial Indoor Track and Field Rankings of 2025

Texas A&M and Illinois have taken the lead in the first DI Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Rating Indexes from USTFCCCA. The rankings are based on qualifying marks from the current season, with Texas A&M topping the men’s list and Illinois leading the women’s side.

Texas A&M boasts impressive performances in sprints and field events, while Illinois showcases strength in field events such as high jump, pole vault, and long jump. Defending champions Texas Tech and Arkansas also rank high, showcasing depth in their respective events.

Other notable teams include Southern California, Oklahoma, and Washington on the men’s side, each excelling in different categories. Outside of the top 10, Nebraska and California stand out as teams to watch with strong performances in field events and sprints, respectively.

With the indoor season just beginning, these rankings are expected to change as more athletes compete leading up to championship season. Keep an eye on Baylor, who could make a jump in the rankings with standout performances in the 200 meters, long jump, and pole vault.
