Officials capture migrant suspect in fatal Illinois hit-and-run 800 miles from scene, en route to Mexico


Illinois – A suspect has been arrested in Texas in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Urbana. The incident occurred on January 19 at the intersection of University Avenue and Coler Avenue. The crash involved a Honda Civic stopped at a red light being struck by a Mitsubishi SUV traveling at a high speed. Five people were in the Civic at the time of the crash, resulting in multiple injuries and one fatality, identified as 20-year-old Katie Abraham.

The driver of the SUV, identified as 29-year-old Julio Cucul Bol from Guatemala, fled the scene and was later located in Milford, Texas, by the U.S. Marshals Service. Bol, who had used a false identity, was arrested and is facing multiple charges including leaving the scene of a personal injury crash resulting in death, aggravated driving under the influence resulting in death, and reckless homicide. He is currently in custody at Dallas County Jail awaiting extradition.
