One person was hospitalized after a house fire broke out in La Grange, Illinois. The fire, which started in a dryer in the basement of a home on North Ashland Avenue, quickly spread beyond the laundry room. Firefighters were able to contain the fire using a fire extinguisher and a hose line. The occupants and their pets were able to safely evacuate the home, but one female occupant was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The La Grange Park Fire Department, along with neighboring fire departments, responded to the incident. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, with initial damage estimates totaling $30,000. Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately 90 minutes to investigate.
