Illinois Product Holiday Market Makes Its Comeback the First Weekend of December

Illinois Product Holiday Market Returns to Downtown Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) — The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) is thrilled to announce the return of the Illinois Product Holiday Market to Downtown Springfield, set to take place from December 6 to December 8. The market will be held at the “Y Block,” located north of the Governor’s Mansion, with hours on the 6th from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., the 7th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the 8th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year’s festive market promises a diverse selection of Illinois-made products, making it an ideal destination for holiday shopping. Local vendors include popular names such as Rolling Lawns Farm, 17th St BBQ, MKS Meats, and Ropp Jersey Cheese, among others. Attendees can enjoy a variety of ready-to-eat food options, including Kurtos pierogies and Polish sausage.

IDOA Director Jerry Costello emphasized the market’s dual purpose: providing a platform for local entrepreneurs to promote their goods and helping small businesses thrive within the community. Shoppers will have the opportunity to support local agriculture, contributing to a more sustainable community.

The holiday market will feature daily giveaways and activities for families. Visitors can take the Illinois Product Pledge at the IDOA tent, committing to allocate $10 of their weekly grocery budget to local items, and in return, receive an Illinois Product sticker. Additionally, families can enjoy live music, a holiday workshop for kids to create ornaments and write letters to Santa, and a chance for children to meet Santa himself.

For adults, Illinois Wine will host a wine tasting experience featuring seven state wineries. Admission to the tasting tent is $10, which includes six tasting tickets and a commemorative tumbler. For more information on participating vendors, please visit the market’s official page.
