The Illinois State Fair is set to kick off on Thursday, showcasing the best of the state’s agriculture, entertainment, and attractions. The annual event will run from August 12th to August 22nd at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield.
Attendees can look forward to a wide range of activities, including livestock shows, horse racing, agricultural exhibitions, and carnival rides. Popular musical acts such as Toby Keith, Dan + Shay, and Kelsea Ballerini are scheduled to perform at the fairgrounds during the 11-day event.
In addition to the traditional fair attractions, this year’s fair will also feature a variety of new events and exhibits. The Illinois Wine Experience will offer tastings from local wineries, while the State Fair Karaoke Contest will give attendees a chance to showcase their vocal talents. Foodies can also indulge in a wide array of culinary delights at the various food vendors throughout the fairgrounds.
Fair organizers are taking precautions to ensure the safety of all attendees in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Increased sanitation measures, social distancing guidelines, and mask requirements will be in place throughout the fairgrounds. Vaccinations will also be available on-site for those who have not yet been vaccinated.
“We are excited to welcome back fairgoers for another year of fun and entertainment at the Illinois State Fair,” said fair manager, Kevin Gordon. “We have worked hard to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees, and we look forward to showcasing the best of Illinois agriculture and entertainment.”
Tickets for the Illinois State Fair can be purchased online or at the fairgrounds. Visitors are encouraged to plan their visit in advance and adhere to all safety guidelines to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience at the fair.
