Facilities now open at Rock Cut State Park as search for missing man continues

Officials in Winnebago County, Illinois are still searching for a missing 31-year-old man from Rock Cut State Park. Illinois Conservation Police Sergeant Audrey Hoftender stated that they could not confirm whether the search has transitioned from a search and rescue mission to a search and recovery operation. Hoftender did not disclose any details regarding the reasons for the man’s disappearance.

Despite dive teams no longer being in the water, Hoftender mentioned that there is still a belief that the investigation should remain focused on the lake. Campers who were previously evacuated on Saturday are now allowed to return to their campsites, as all facilities at Rock Cut State Park are operating as usual.

The Illinois Conservation Police will continue their investigation, although they have not provided a specific timeline for its completion. The search for the missing 31-year-old man is ongoing, with officials working diligently to uncover any leads regarding his whereabouts. As of now, the situation remains unresolved, and residents are urged to report any relevant information to the authorities.
