The Taste of Chicago food festival released its 2024 lineup, taking place from Sept. 6 through 8 in Grant Park, featuring over 40 food vendors and a music lineup including CeeLo Green. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson emphasized the event as a celebration of the city’s culinary and cultural scene. As a lead-up to the festival, pop-ups will be held in different neighborhoods across Chicago.
Food vendors for the festival include a wide variety of options such as 90 Miles Cuban Café, Harold’s Chicken, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria, and Seoul Taco, along with many food trucks. The music lineup on the Main Stage includes performances by artists like Jon B. and Atlas Genius, while the Goose Island Stage will feature acts such as Liam Taylor and DJ Hotrod. Additionally, there will be SummerDance performances with various dance styles and music throughout the weekend.
The festival’s timing was shifted from July to September due to other big events happening in the city during the summer, like the NASCAR Chicago Street Race and the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Mayor Johnson expressed excitement about welcoming both locals and visitors to the event for a weekend of entertainment, food, and community. The Taste of Chicago festival has become a global institution over its 4-decade history, showcasing the best of what the city has to offer in terms of food, music, and culture.
