Horizon House of Illinois Valley recently celebrated the opening of a new hub at 105 Marquette St. in downtown La Salle, expanding its presence in the community. The hub serves as the home of the day services program for about 50 clients, offering purposeful and meaningful activities to enhance their skills and discover their interests. The nonprofit organization is seeking volunteer and employment opportunities for its clients within the community, with clients already volunteering at various local organizations.
CEO Michelle Rich expressed excitement about the new location and its potential to provide more opportunities for clients. The hub also serves as a meeting location for Horizon House, with spacious rooms designed for conferences and leisure activities. The facility was created to feel like a comfortable living room to ensure clients feel at ease.
Horizon House is grateful for its partnership with the city of La Salle, which helped improve accessibility for clients with a painted crosswalk and a fence created by Illinois Valley Community College. The agency’s mission is expanded by the new hub, which complements its existing location in Peru.
Those interested in providing a volunteer or employment opportunity can contact Horizon House of Illinois Valley at 815-223-4488 or visit horizonhouseperu.org for more information on the organization and its programs.
