In a major operation, police in Spain have successfully dismantled a criminal network that was dedicated to sending marijuana to Germany through parcel companies. The operation resulted in the arrest of five individuals and the seizure of more than 1,000 marijuana plants.
The network operated through a sophisticated system that included small plantations spread throughout the Madrid region, providing a constant supply of narcotics to send to Germany. The organization used heat-sealed packages with tracking devices to monitor the location of the drugs in real-time during their journey from Spain to Germany.
The investigation began in March when police intercepted a package containing four kilos of marijuana buds destined for Dortmund, Germany. This interception led to the unraveling of the complex network that operated internationally.
During the operation, police carried out searches in four towns in the Madrid region, where they discovered and dismantled two marijuana plantations and a drug packaging and packing center. In addition to the seizure of over 1,000 marijuana plants and 40 kilos of marijuana buds, authorities also confiscated 4,000 euros in cash.
This successful operation highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and organized crime in Spain and across international borders.
